The New York City Bar Association released a statement Friday finding Amy Coney Barrett “qualified” to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, though the organization expressed reservations over the nominee’s positions with regard to long-standing high court precedents and individual rights.

The evaluation, which considered Barrett’s “competence and merit” based on her work on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and recent testimony to lawmakers, comes just days before the U.S. Senate is expected to confirm her Monday to the Supreme Court on a party-line vote.
