A federal judge on Friday ordered the Justice Department to file a brief on President Donald Trump’s exact intentions when he tweeted about declassifying all information related to the federal probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election, finding comments from the White House counsel’s office were not enough to decide the matter.

Parties seeking the release of documents tied to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, including the full Mueller report, last week filed an emergency motion citing Trump’s tweets on the declassification of the material in requesting U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton of the District of Columbia order the release of more of those materials.
