Amy Coney Barrett, the Trump administration’s pick to succeed the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg at the U.S. Supreme Court, on Saturday touted her mentor Antonin Scalia, for whom she clerked at the high court and whose view of the law has shaped her own.

“His judicial philosophy is mine, too,” Barrett said in remarks from the Rose Garden. “A judge must apply the law as written. Judges are not policy makers and must be resolute in setting aside any policy views they might hold.”
