Today, knowledge management and e-discovery company Onna announced that it is expanding into the regulatory market with the release of Onna Compliance. The new offering, which is separate from Onna’s e-discovery tool but similarly built on top of its core knowledge integration platform, looks to help users locate personal identifiable information (PII) and other sensitive data among their various data repositories and communication channels, such as  Dropbox and Slack.

Given Onna’s e-discovery focus, Eric Liou, Onna’s vice president of product, said that moving into the regulatory compliance space felt like a “natural progression from the existing products we have.” He added client feedback and the company’s belief that they could help serve currently unmet needs in the compliance space also were factors in Onna’s expansion.
