Thomas Griffith, recently retired from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, is warning about the long-term dangers he believes the perception of a politicized judiciary could have on democracy.
Griffith, who was appointed by President George W. Bush and spent 15 years on the court, said he believes a more open judiciary could help rebuff beliefs that judges have political motivations in their rulings.
