For over a year, Jones Day has been fighting back against two separate sets of allegations that the firm improperly treated male and female associates differently. On Wednesday, they came together for the first time.

Julia Sheketoff, the former U.S. Supreme Court clerk who joined her husband in a suit alleging that Jones Day’s parental leave policies are unfair to men, asked a D.C. federal judge to revisit a ruling that denied her claims that she was underpaid while at the firm on the basis of her gender. She also sought leave to file the same motion as an amicus brief in a class action filed by female former Jones Day associates, arguing that both cases address the same questions about the Equal Pay Act.
