The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has launched a review of the legal sector in England and Wales, according to a statement on Wednesday.

It follows a study by the CMA into the legal sector in 2016 which found that that competition for individual consumers and small businesses in the industry “was not working well”. It made recommendations to industry regulators to “improve transparency by legal firms on price, quality and service” and to “enable customers to navigate the market more easily and get value for money.”
