The ILTA>ON virtual conference continued Tuesday with a roundtable discussion billed as ”Can’t We (Corporate, Law Firms, Vendors) All Just Get Along?” As the title promises, the session dove headlong into how technology has helped change the power dynamics within legal, as well as some of the pitfalls that can occur when trying to build a healthy relationship among partners.

Of course, collaboration wasn’t always an imperative—or even an issue that came up all that often. Panelist James Yoon, a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, noted it wasn’t too long ago that law firms were a one-stop-shop handling the vast majority of a client’s legal needs. He argued that from a purely operational standpoint, this made things both easier and cleaner.
