A growing number of Black law students have been admitted to law school in 2020, and an increasing number have taken the Law School Admissions Test since mid-March—potentially signaling progress in a long-sought change in the legal profession in Philadelphia and beyond.

And many students say they chose a legal career to work on issues related to race and social justice to foster systemic change, further entrenched by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent protests calling for justice system reform.
