Jason A. Jones, a former federal prosecutor who most recently was a partner at King & Spalding in Washington, D.C., has been named general counsel for the FBI.

The agency made the announcement Monday. Jones replaces Dana Boente, who retired in June after dealing with backlash from President Donald Trump’s supporters over his role in the Russia investigation into the interference of the 2016 U.S. election and alleged connections between Trump and Russian officials.
