WHAT WE’RE WATCHING
HIRE AND LOWER - GIven what this year’s law grads are going through, it seems like ages ago that people simply graduated from law school (at in-person ceremonies!) and started working (at in-person jobs!). The ABA has released its jobs data for ye olde Class of 2019 and ALM’s Karen Sloan has crunched the numbers. Among the many takeaways from that analysis is one big change to the top 5 law schools who sent the largest chunks of their 2019 classes to full-time law jobs: Cornell fell from No. 5 last year to No. 16 this year, while the University of Michigan moved up from No. 8 to take its place in the fifth spot. But Cornell remained near the top of the heap in terms of law schools that sent the largest percentage of grads to large firms, coming in at No. 4 on that list.
