In anticipation of a post-Brexit world, London firms have been upping the number of lawyers they have qualified to practice Irish law. But a dispute quietly arose between the two countries in recent months as to whether lawyers can practice Irish law from afar. The answer could have big implications for those U.K. firms.

The Law Society of England and Wales and The Law Society of Ireland are disagreeing over the rights of solicitors on the Irish roll to practice law outside of the jurisdiction.
