The top lawyer of the medical device company behind the Invisalign clear orthodontic braces announced he will retire in August as the company has promoted from within for his replacement.

Roger E. George, the senior vice president and chief legal and regulatory officer, of Align Technology Inc., leaves the company after 17 years. He was responsible for all of the company’s legal affairs, including securities, governance, intellectual property, real estate and employment matters. George will be replaced by the company’s associate general counsel, Julie Coletti.
