There are some collective truths in this crazy universe we live in that we all can agree with, but perhaps the most widely known is the exquisite pain of stepping on a Lego. But while we all agree that a floor littered with Legos is an actual minefield for bare feet, why is it that it hurts so much? Simon Whistler broke down exactly why stepping on Legos hurts so much in a recent video for his YouTube channel Today I Found Out, because yes, there's an actual reason.

It turns out that there are enough Lego bricks in the world for each person to be designated 83 bricks, which makes it relatively likely to step on one in your lifetime, especially if there are children in your life. Unfortunately, the shape of a Lego, its inability to provide any give, and the sensitivity of a human foot is all a recipe for a painful disaster.

Listen to Whistler break it down. Not that it'll help you when you're screaming in pain, but hey, the more ya know.
