Do Not Give the Enemy an Inch! (Two Ways to Defeat the Enemy)

I am so excited to be studying the book of Nehemiah with you! If you fell behind in your reading this week, no worries, just catch up on the weekends.
Today we are going to look at one of the first lessons we learn from the book of Nehemiah and that is… as soon as we begin to obey the Lord – we will face opposition!
When this happens…
Do not give the enemy an inch!

If your new year started out rough – I’m sorry and I understand.
I shared a little about how my new year isn’t going exactly as planned on the video today and Nehemiah faced the same. He made plans but then immediately faced opposition – first from his enemies and then from within.
With all that Nehemiah faced, the majority of us would have quit. We would have said things like… obviously this is not God’s will! This is just way too much trouble!
We need to understand that all of us, who are obeying the Lord, are going to face battles. And when we do, may we be like Nehemiah and not give the enemy an inch!
Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”
Nehemiah 4:14
