…And, we’re back!
Easy(ish) transfers within Newark Airport have returned with the AirTrain once again operating between terminals, parking and the train station. The service was suspended on 1 May 2014 and was expected to be out of service through 15 July. Somehow they managed to get the work completed early and service was restored. Both NJTransit and Amtrak have resumed service to the station as well.
It is not clear what exactly the work consisted of; at least as a passenger everything looked pretty much identical (the stairs outside between the platforms and the top walkway had a fresh coat of paint). But I care a lot less about that now as the work is completed and my travels to and from the airport are, once again, much easier.

Thank god! I’m flying into EwR from Vancouver on July 6. The flight comes in late so I was afraid I was going to miss my train back to Philly after having to take the shuttle to Newark penn station. awesome news!!
That shuttle was a disaster. 50 min to move three miles? Terrible and embarrassing.
Is the train just as slow as before?
Yeah, it is still slow. But I’ll take it – and the NJTransit connection – over tunnel traffic every day.
The train was embarrassingly slow as it crawled toward the train station. Have they speeded it up?
Now a all UA needs to do is bring back their low ZFV fares and I’ll be happy. That’s not going to happen though. They were hood while they lasted. My last one in Feb was to LAS for $116.00 RT, AI.
Those fares usually show when matching PHL sales from other carriers.
