Cody Wheelock is a full-time artist and educator with over a decade of professional experience. His work invites the viewer to experience the great outdoors from the eyes of an artist. He blends his love of the outdoors, traditional oil painting skills and experience in video production to not only capture the scene in front of him but also share the the story of getting there.
Cody began selling portrait commissions in middle school which developed into a busy studio practice as he began to accumulate awards and earn degrees in art education from the University of Nebraska and Boston University. Cody spent nearly 10 years as a full time instructor, most recently in charge of the visual art program at a college preparatory school in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to developing his teaching program Cody stayed busy producing original work for juried exhibitions, competitions, and commissions for clients as well as teaching at the Joslyn Art Museum. As demand increased for additional private instruction, Cody and his family made the decision in 2019 to move to the Kansas City metro to open Fount Atelier of Fine Art, focusing on in-studio and online art coaching while also producing work for clients and shows. Today Cody maintains a robust show schedule and online presence while he helps people from all over the world achieve their artistic goals.
