View candidates who are open to work in Recruiter

Last updated: 8 months ago

The Open to work feature allows LinkedIn members to privately share their career interests with Recruiter users who aren't affiliated with their current or related companies.

Once a candidate opts to privately share their career goals with recruiters, LinkedIn Recruiter users will see Open to work on the candidate’s profile.

If an open candidate starts a new position, they'll be prompted to turn off their signal if they're no longer open to work. They'll also receive a reminder to respond to InMail messages from recruiters if they haven't responded to two consecutive InMail messages.

To view candidates who fit your search criteria and have specified that they're open to work:

  1. Run a search in Recruiter.

  2. Click Open to work under Spotlights at the top of the search results page.

Note: This spotlight may not be available if no candidates who fit your search criteria have opted to privately share their career interests with recruiters on LinkedIn.

An Open to work indicator is displayed in three places.

  • On the candidate’s profile picture, you’ll see #OPENTOWORK if they’ve chosen to share with all LinkedIn members that they’re open to work.

Note: A candidate who’s chosen to share they’re open to work with recruiters only will still appear in an Open to work spotlight search; however, the #OPENTOWORK photo frame won’t display.

  • At the bottom of the candidate’s profile card on the search results page, you’ll see Open to work. Move your cursor over Open to work to see the information they opted to share with recruiters.

  • On a candidate's profile, in the dropdown below Summary, you’ll see Open to work.

If a candidate is in your project’s pipeline and updates their LinkedIn profile to be open to work, you’ll receive a notification in Recruiter.

You can also filter for candidates who've indicated they're open to remote work.
