Michelin proposes three tire ranges for the new all-electric Porsche Macan! For over half a century, Michelin and Porsche AG have been working together to push the boundaries of innovation. Unveiled last January, the new Macan, the first all-electric SUV by the German carmaker, is one of the major projects involving Porsche and Michelin, which has accompanied all the Macan’s generations and evolutions since its launch in 2014. To satisfy the ambitious design brief of the new electric Porsche Macan, Michelin drew on its know-how and in-depth knowledge of electric vehicles. This feat is the fruit of several years of research, and results from the technological learning that Michelin has developed over eight seasons in the World Formula E Championships, where Porsche has competed since 2019. 🚚🌍Last week, Michelin was pleased to host the 2nd International Road Union (IRU) roundtable on decarbonizing transport and reiterated its commitment for a cleaner mobility. As the global road transport organization, IRU connects people and goods across the planet. Its mission: to foster sustainable mobility while promoting economic growth, safety, and environmental stewardship. This event offered us the opportunity to discuss with 20 IRU members about concrete solutions to reduce transport CO2 emissions and showcase several Michelin initiatives on the matter, from connected fleet services to innovative tire solutions, in tire rolling resistance reduction and eco-driving. More than half of the CO2 emission reductions needed by 2050 will stem from efficiency measures like improved vehicle components. Michelin is committed to this decarbonization journey, and together, we’re driving toward a greener future. 🌿🌏🤝

Congratulations to the entire AraNea Composite team for this well-deserved recognition!   AraNea Composite, a Michelin Group subsidiary, has won the silver medal at the INTERMAT Paris exhibition for its sustainable alternative to metal reinforcements in the construction industry.   This international competition recognizes technical equipment, services, or products that contribute to industry progress through innovation and decarbonization. AraNea Composite competed in the Building, Civil Engineering, and Concrete Industry category with its Glass Resin Composite Fiber.   This solution addresses the needs of the reinforced concrete market, which suffers from a significant carbon impact. It accounts for 8% of global CO₂ emissions, surpassing both maritime and air traffic combined. The promise is to reduce the carbon footprint by 30% to 70% using composite fibers while eliminating corrosion risks, thereby extending the lifespan of structures.   With AraNea Composite, Michelin introduces groundbreaking innovation to the demanding construction market.

Because sustainability is rooted in our strategy, we joined the EU Sustainable Consumption Pledge initiative, reaffirming our role in environmental and social stewardship through ambitious targets to 2030 and beyond.   Michelin is in the Race to Zero campaign and is committed to achieving Net-Zero Emissions by 2050 through a decarbonization plan, with interim science-based targets for the entire value chain by 2030, thus responding to the urgent call to limit global warming to 1.5°C.   We mitigate our environmental impact through lifecycle assessments, focusing on circular solutions, energy efficiency, recycled and renewable materials to achieving our ambition of “All-Sustainable” tires by 2050, … while reducing our environmental manufacturing footprint.   Promoting inclusion of diversity and social dialogue worldwide, ensuring a living wage to all Michelin Group employees is also part of our commitment to social sustainability.    SBTI, Sustainable Mobility for All (SuM4All), B4IG - Business for Inclusive Growth, ITF - International Transport Forum, WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Movin'On Connect

A salary is intended to help people to live decently.   That's why Michelin has deployed a ‘living wage’ program worldwide, a concept defined by the United Nations Global Compact and that Michelin has been a signatory of since 2010.   Early 2024, Michelin was recognized ‘Global Living Wage Employer’ from the Fair Wage Network, a world-renowned NGO. This certification attests that the Group employees worldwide receive remuneration at least equivalent to the living wage.   The living wages are based on employees’ location to correlate with living costs. In most cases, the references provided by Fair Wage Network are above the legal minimum wage.   Find out more about the living wage program through testimonies. B4IG - Business for Inclusive Growth
