Posted For You – Sending Love Your Way

Hi again!  A very gloomy, very rainy day here.  So, I am taking refuge in the Studio to create a sweet Spring card to cheer me up…

Let’s play!  Working with the Retro Rubber (#225) Tic Tac Toe Board: Jewels, Butterflies and Florals; Inspired By (#278) for Happy Mail; selecting the colors suggested by Color Throwdown (#782) Burgandy, Rose and Sage; and bringing it all together with the current Global Design Project (#434) Sketch.

Here is the result:

POSTED FOR YOU – RRCB225 – IB278 – CTD782 – GDP434

Steps:

  • Card Base: (7¾” x 7⅛” scored at 3⅞”) Wild Wasabi cardstock (retired) for a modified Slim-Line card.
  • Accent Mat: (3⅝” x 6⅞”) Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3½” x 6¾”) Rococo Rose cardstock (retired) dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Square Panels: (3” x 3”) Floral Edged Squares from the retired Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper pack (circa 2018).
  • Decoration – Butterflies: Black and White Butterfly patterned piece of paper from the retired Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper pack (circa 2019).
    • Two Butterflies were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Colors chosen: Light Bubble Bath, retired Dark Pink Pirouette, Light Cherry Cobbler and retired Light Soft Succulent.
    • The Butterflies were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Banner: (3¼” x ½”) Wild Wasabi cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Sending Love you way, from the retired Posted For You stamp set (circa 2020) was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The banner tails were cut-in with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Butterflies and the Sentiment Banner were popped up with DimensionalsButterfly antennae were drawn in with my Black Fine-Tipped Liquid Gel Pen.   A little bit of Gold Simply Elegant Trim was added under the Sentiment Banner and four Rhinestone Basic Jewels, colored with the Dark Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends Marker, were added for a bit of extra bling.

I really like how this card turned out.  It is fun to see what is in your retired color bins and play with old favorites.

Thanks for spending some more of your time with me today.   Cheers,  Jolanda!
