Spirit Airlines suspending service at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in May
Spirit Airlines is suspending service at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport this spring, the airline confirmed to News 9.
Spirit Airlines said service is being suspended effective May 8, citing "ongoing operational constraints related to Pratt & Whitney GTF engine availability and seasonal demand for our MHT flights."
Spirit Airlines began service at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport in October 2021, the first new airline at the airport in 17 years. They offered flights to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, Ft. Myers and Myrtle Beach.
The airline said the change affects two routes from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, Orlando and Myrtle Beach.
In a statement to News 9, Spirit Airlines said in part, "This decision reflects our continuing efforts to make necessary strategic shifts to enable Spirit to compete effectively in the current environment. We apologize to our Guests for any inconvenience, and those with reservations for May 8 or later will be offered a refund."
Spirit Airlines said they look forward to returning with seasonal service next winter and that the airport is a great partner.
