The Ukrainian An-26 with water and food that was downed by militants near Luhansk on July 14 had eight people on board, Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) spokesman Vladyslav Selezniov said.
“The An-26 was carrying water and food. It was to deliver the products to block posts,” he said in a comment to Interfax-Ukraine on July 14.
There were eight people on board the plane: seven crew members and one person who was accompanying the cargo.
Selezniov said the plane was flying at a safe fight.
“The reasons why it was downed are being investigated, (and) a rescue operation is underway,” he added.
