Illinois crops see improvement

Illinois’ corn condition improved from last week.

Sixty-seven percent of Illinois’ corn crop is rated good to excellent, eight percent better than last week.

Soybeans are nearly fully emerged at 96 percent and 68 percent is rated good to excellent.

The winter wheat crop is on track with 63 percent harvested, and 74 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.

The USDA says slightly cooler, wet conditions last week allowed 66 percent of topsoil moisture to be adequate.
