BioMatrix reports successful pullet trials

An animal nutrition company is having success using all-natural ingredients in various poultry systems.

BioMatrix research scientist Alamanda Calvert says BIOLEX has been a useful product for layers, and is now being tested for feed stability in pullets and broilers.

“We completed three different pullet trials (using) our BIOLEX in a conventional cage program from zero to 17 weeks, and we saw improved uniformity of body weight.”

Speaking to Brownfield at the Midwest Poultry Federation Convention in Minneapolis, she says BioMatrix did an organic trial too.

“And in that trial we also saw an improvement in uniformity of body weights, and a reduction in mortality. We also saw an increase in feed conversion.”

Calvert says BIOLEX is also a supplement for pork production used in nursery pigs.
