Kevin Bobo with the Sheriff's Office.  Deputies responded around 9 a.m. to a report of a robbery at the Spartan Federal Credit Union on Charisma Drive.Authorities say Banner wore a black ski mask when he went into the bank armed with a pump shotgun. Banner fired a round into the ceiling before leaving with an unknown amount of money, deputies said. Banner stole an employee's truck and drove it to the Campus Place apartments, where it was found abandoned, according to deputies. Before the bank robbery, a deputy spotted a 2000 BMW parked in the same location where the truck was later found. The deputy said the BMW had the wrong tag and the tag was seized. Deputies said Banner abandoned the truck and left the area in the BMW. The break in the case came when after the robbery, Banner called into report his tag stolen from his BMW, Bobo said. A search warrant was executed at his residence and deputies found evidence connected to the robbery including all of the stolen money. Banner is charged with two counts of armed robbery, five counts of kidnapping, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Banner is expected to appear before a judge Tuesday at 2 p.m. for a bond hearing. A man whose wife and 4-year-old son were inside the bank during the robbery spoke with WYFF News 4 reporter Mike McCormick.  "It was very emotional. I knew that they were OK, but just the fact of how quick life can change, you know, at the drop of a hat," the man said.
