Sandra Martinez

Martinez updated

Sandra (Hunt) Martinez, 81, of Elm Mott, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness, on April 26,2024 in Elm Mott, Texas.  A graveside memorial service will be conducted at a later date at Rosemound Cemetery.

Sandra was born on August 21, 1942 in Waco, Texas.  She retired from Marathon Battery after many years of dedicated service.  She could normally be found reading a Nora Robert’s book at her dining room table enjoying her coffee, rolling up her sleeves to help her children with various projects or playing Bingo!  Her sense of humor and laser focus is what kept her moving.  She was a constant presence and force of nature that continually showed her children and others what true love was all about.

She was preceded in death by her first born son, Alan Bridger in 1990.

Sandra is survived by her children, Rodney (Terri) Bridger, of Waco; Chris Bridger of Elm Mott and Roberta Jewell of Gholson; her grandchildren, Rodney (Sarah) Bridger, April Bridger, Toni Jewell, Noah (Elisabet) Jewell, Amber Jewell,  Megan Jewell, Brittney (Weston) Perez, Zach Bridger. A loving and devoted sister, Sharon Wood.  Many great grandchildren that she was very proud of!  She will be greatly missed and forever loved by  many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to reserve  a special “Thank You” to Amber Jewell and Megan Jewell for their unyielding support, care and comfort to their grandmother for two years at her home while on hospice.  She fought the fight with dignity, determination and much Love and Laughter because of these special grandchildren whom she adored!
She was also allowed to rest in her home because of the Outstanding Care given to her by BSW Hospice Nurses and staff. A special “Thank You” to Bailey, Angie and the most loved and cherished Jose.

Your thoughts, prayers, well wishes and comforting words did not go unnoticed by Sandra.  She was well aware of the love given to her, because she Loved First!
