ACE CEO tells farmers and ethanol producers not to be discouraged by GREET update

The CEO of the American Coalition for Ethanol says corn farmers and ethanol producers should not be discouraged by Tuesday’s announcement on sustainable aviation fuel tax credits.

Brian Jennings tells Brownfield the 45Z credit that goes into effect next year won’t have as many restrictions as 40B, which expires at the end of 2024.

“There will not be this requirement that you’ve got to do three specific practices on all of your acres to qualify, there will be more flexibility for farmers and others in the system. And I think, ultimately, that is what is important.”

Under 40B, corn used for sustainable aviation fuel is required to come from no-till acres with cover crops and enhanced efficiency fertilizers.
