A morel dilemma

Depending on your location, morel mushroom season runs from as early as March to as late as June. The key is the weather—daytime temperatures in the 60s and nighttime temperatures somewhere in the 40s.

While the “hunt” is often a big part of the fun, what if the nutrient-rich fungi were available year-round? While it’s possible in the future, researchers at Michigan State University found that cultivating more mushrooms is expensive and challenging for growers.
