Tennessee farmers have 60% of soybeans and 85% cotton planted

Rains provided much-needed moisture for much of the state. 

Statewide, corn is 96% planted, 81% emerged, and 78% rated good to excellent. Soybeans are 60% planted with 43% emerged.  Cotton is 85% planted, 6% squaring, and 78% rated good to excellent.

Wheat conditions improved, with 66% of the crop rated good to excellent and 98% is headed, 82% coloring, and 5% mature.

Pastures are rated 56% good to excellent.  Hay is rated 62% good to excellent, and some farmers are reporting yields and quality have diminished due to the combination of hot and dry conditions and the price of fertilizer making applications cost-prohibitive. 

Topsoil moisture is 92% and subsoil moisture are 94% adequate to surplus.
