Short-term outlook good for U.S. DDG exports

Exports of U.S. Dried Distillers Grains are expected to hold steady through next year.

U.S. Grains Council CEO Ryan LeGrand says demand in 2023 and 2024 should be similar to the past several years.

“Distillers grains is a great product that people around the world now know how to use very effectively, so we expect it to continue to fit into rations around the world.”

But he tells Brownfield the longer-term outlook is more uncertain.

“When all this soy crush is set to start coming online, and we’ll see a lot more soybean meal on the market and expect stiff competition in the global markets from that product.”
