Pork producer says he’s pleased with trade progress
An Indiana pork producer says he’s encouraged that the U.S. and China are working toward a trade agreement.
Joe Baldwin is the president of Indiana Pork.
“Some of those issues- the trade inequities- are being rectified and we appreciate the work the administration is doing to give us more access to those markets and fair access to those markets,” he says.
He tells Brownfield he’s also pleased that the U.S. plans to negotiate a trade agreement with Japan.
“That’s a very important market for us as well,” he says. “I can see that one step at a time we’re getting there, and I’m sure we’ll end up at the table with Japan very shortly.”
Baldwin spoke to Brownfield at the Midwest Pork Conference.
