Missouri corn planting 34% points behind

Missouri’s rainfall last week was more than two-and-a-half inches more than normal – delaying planting progress more.

As of Sunday, 65 percent of corn was planted, 34 percentage points below a year ago. Emergence is slow, at 51 percent, compared to 88 percent on average.

Soybean planting is well behind the 63-percentage mark last year at just 12%.

Cotton and rice planting also remain behind.

Eighty-three percent of winter wheat has headed, a bit behind last year.
