A state fair family tradition
The Missouri State Fair kicked off in central Missouri on Thursday.
Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe used his final opening day welcome to highlight tradition and the importance of youth agriculture is at the state fair. He also says…
“When I can, I like to watch the livestock shows.”
Missouri Ag Director Chris Chinn says the fair is the agriculture community’s largest reunion.
“It truly is what the Missouri State Fair feels like for so many of us that make it a tradition to come to the fair,” she says.
Governor Mike Parson says there are new investments coming to the grounds. He also says, in general, Missouri is in a good place right now…
“We’ve had tough times this year with droughts across the state, but all of you who are farmers, you understand there will be good and bad years and none of us control the weather.”
And Parson tells Brownfield…
“Even though it’s raining, we still have challenges, but we’re fortunate to have the current rain events we’ve had.”
The Missouri State Fair continues through August 20.
