Nutrien Ag Solutions a one-stop-shop for crop farmers

The world’s largest provider of crop inputs and services is launching what it calls a one-stop digital platform to assists growers with everything from agronomic decisions to paying bills.

Nutrien, formed at the beginning of the year when Canadian companies Agrium and the Potash Corporation merged, is re-branding its retail division as Nutrien Ag Solutions.

Vice president Richard Downey says the response from early access customers has been very positive.

“The bottom line is that they love it.  They like the ease-of-use, paying bills online, looking up their yields, what they put on the different fields and different crops.  And some of the crop budgeting tools that are included in there.  So we’ve had excellent feedback.”

While there are similar services available, Downey tells Brownfield what Nutrien Ag Solutions delivers is unique.

“There are independent, stand-alone components of each of these.  But I think what the farmers are really looking for is a one-stop-shop and ease of use.  And if you can deliver that, you’re going to win that race or put yourself in good standing against the competition.”

Nutrien will officially roll out the platform this July and continue in phases through the middle of next year.
