Syngenta reportedly looking for opportunities

Syngenta reportedly is looking for takeover opportunities as it fends off takeover bids.  A Swiss newspaper quotes the Switzerland-based company’s officials who say they are actively considering “takeovers, joint ventures or partial sales.”

Syngenta rejected several offers by rival Monsanto including the latest for a proposed $47 Billion dollars three months ago.

Syngenta CEO John Ramsey told the newspaper that its business is very complementary with DuPont with which it has the most agreements for collaboration than any other company.

Syngenta’s company chairman said they are “leaving no stone unturned” and talking with all similar companies in the industry.
