The last few years have left a lasting impact that has fundamentally transformed how and where people work. Many organizations are now dealing with multiple variations of hybrid work — remote, in the office, or a combination of both. Regardless of the industry, the maturity of the company, and the technologies at their disposal, one thing is certain: hybrid work is here to stay. So it’s paramount for organizations to have access to the tools and technologies that empower their employees to stay connected and be productive, securely from anywhere.

At Citrix, we are focused on supporting enterprises in their journey to access work from anywhere securely. We have released multi-monitor support on mobile and tablet devices, enabling everyone from frontline workers and sales executives to field staff to work on the move as well as on their monitors while docked at their desks. This provides a cost-effective workstation-like experience.

You can see this trend, too, with key device vendors like Apple and Android device makers as they focus on enterprise use cases. Recently, Apple announced new features that support enterprise use cases for hybrid workers with iPadOS 16 and more secure, better user experiences with iOS 16.

Some of the key features we are excited about are stage manager, multi-monitor support, and app intent API to programmatically leverage Siri, with a key focus on authentication. These are set to be included in the September 7 release of iOS 16. We’re pleased to share that beginning with Citrix Workspace app for iOS version 22.9.0, we will support these newly released features and functionality to further enhance the user experience for remote workers of all types.

Citrix’s capabilities around delivering high-definition experience (HDX) on an extended monitor with a small factor device, together with Apple’s new features, will be a game changer in providing a powerful and cost-effective workstation experience.

Leverage Stage Manager on Citrix Workspace App for Simplified Viewing

For the first time with iPad OS 16, Apple is introducing Stage Manager, enabling users to view multiple overlapping application windows in a single view. When used in conjunction with Citrix Workspace app, users can keep business-critical apps running in the background and have greater flexibility in navigating their workspace.

Access and work on business-critical Citrix applications on the go with Stage Manager enabled.

Advanced Multitasking Capabilities Using Stage Manager with App Switcher

Citrix Workspace app on iPad OS 16 will enable employees to take advantage of new features, such as multitasking with multiple apps on both their iPad and external display. This, combined with Citrix’s app switcher capability, takes multitasking a step ahead by enabling the same for published apps within a virtual desktop session across both the tablet and monitor. The combination makes it powerful and drives productivity with iPad and external monitors.

Take multitasking to next level with app switcher and stage manager.

What’s Next

Get started with these new features with the release of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 that will help empower organizations to support their hybrid workers. We will be releasing the iOS 16 capabilities on Citrix Workspace app with 22.9.0.

Please note, general availability depends on the Apple release.
