Last week, for the first time in a year, I went to the mall. My daily work-from-home uniform of grey slacks, a black polo, white socks, and slippers had begun to wear on me. It was a surreal experience to be doing something so “normal” after a unique year during the pandemic.

My first stop was The Gap for some new t-shirts. I bought three black T-shirts, size medium.

This got me thinking.

T-shirt sizing is a common way to frame offer strategies and templates and is a nice way for partners to think about how they can productize their services. As customers look for faster paths to impactful business outcomes, they are more receptive to trying a new template-like process or implementation. Then they can learn from that initial effort to fine-tune for added customization and value.

Shirt sizing didn’t always exist. Before the automation of textiles and clothing, clothes were made to order.

Now let’s put this in the context of the work systems and tools we use to support customers as a partner ecosystem. Many of you do this already today, taking process steps and constructing “getting started” or “industry templates” for proof-of-concept work.

At Citrix one of our primary areas of focus is to get our customers to the cloud of their choice as quickly as possible in a way that best suits their needs and business requirements.
