Accurate Steel Fab, a fabricator and manufacturer of light-gauge steel products and SFIA member, was searching for an innovative solution to speed up construction and generate returns for investors. The north Texas based company made the decision to include the manufacturing of pre-panelized steel components into their range of products. By making this strategic move, the company was able to start projects sooner, minimize downtime and accelerate its overall project completion rates.
Pre-Panelized Steel: A ‘Significant Milestone’
Howard Akin, CEO at both Accurate Steel Fab, LLC, and Prime Development Capital, LLC, leads a consortium of companies specializing in construction. Accurate Steel Fab in Lewisville, Texas, is a cold-formed steel (CFS) product manufacturer.
The inclusion of an SFIA member FRAMECAD, which provides roll-forming equipment and software, marked a significant milestone for Accurate Steel Fab, enabling the manufacturing of pre-panelized steel components.

The use of CFS and the FRAMECAD system presented Accurate Steel Fab with the opportunity to make significant strides in the construction sector, Howard says. CFS framing is a superior alternative to wood, he says, because steel-framed structures are straighter, more durable and more resistant to warping. Also, adding pre-punched service holes reduces waste, aligns with the company’s sustainability goals and enhances the overall efficiency of its manufacturing operations.
“The success of many developments hinges on timing,” says Phillips Wagner, COO of Prime Development Capital, a commercial real estate development and investment firm. “By using pre-designed and engineered light gauge steel panels we are cutting out the guesswork on a crucial portion of the development life cycle.”
