9/11 Remembrance Ceremonies across metro Atlanta

Friday marks the 14th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

Many events will be held across Metro Atlanta to remember the victims.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Presentation of Colors
A moment of silence will take place following remarks from Federal and Airport officials, and a tolling of bells.  Starting at 7:45 a.m. 

Gwinnett County

The Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services will hold a “9-11 Remembrance Ceremony” at 9 a.m. Located in the front parking lot of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Dr. in Lawrenceville.

Milton

Milton High School will hold a memorial on the front lawn at 8:00 a.m. honoring the 2,996 people who passed tragically. All community members, students from all schools and families are welcome and encouraged to attend. The school's tribute was put into place Thursday with the help of volunteers.

"Even if it just impacts one person, it made their day better, the work was all worth it," said organizer Savannah Bailey, who was just 3-years-old on that tragic day 14 years ago. 

Johns Creek

Johns Creek 9/11 commemoration to display pieces of World Trade Center
Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, 8:30 a.m. at Newtown Park Amphitheater, 3150 Old Alabama Road, Johns Creek, GA 30022.

Roswell

Members of the public are invited to join the City of Roswell and the Roswell Rotary Club on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, as they honor those lost and injured during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The 9-11 Tribute will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the Mike Gann 9-11 Memorial, located near the lake in Roswell Area Park, 10495 Woodstock Road.

Paulding County

A ceremony will take place at the 9/11 memorial site at Mt. Tabor Park located at 1550 East Paulding Drive Dallas, GA 30157. The ceremony will begin promptly at 8:40 a.m.

This ceremony will be led and sponsored by the Paulding County Sheriff's OfficeHonor Guard, the Paulding County Fire Department Honor Guard, and the Retired New York (RNY) Shields of Georgia.


DeKalb County

The county will pay tribute in remembrance of 9/11with a moment of silence.

The remembrance ceremony will take place in front of DeKalb's 9/11 Memorial.

The ceremony will include the laying of a wreath in front of the memorial sculpture, the playing of Taps and the sounding of emergency alert tones as flags are lowered to half-staff.

Henry County

The Henry County School System and the Office of Discipline and Safety will be recognizing and honoring Henry County emergency responders on Friday.

Patriot Day Luncheon

Solid Rock Pentecostal Church invites the public to a Patriot Day Luncheon at 12 p.m. The luncheon will take place at Solid Rock Pentecostal Church located at 4707 Washington Road, College- Park, Georgia 30349.  

We will remember the momentous event to commemorate victims and the heroic efforts of Firefighters and Policemen of the attack on America.

Marietta Police Department

Public is invited to the 9/11 remembrance service Friday at noon on the Marietta Square.

This service is hosted by the Marietta VFW Post 2681 and the Auxiliary.

Woodstock

Join Woodstock to remember those lost, as well as the service men and women who continue to fight and sacrifice for our freedom.
