Minnesota farm incomes decline

Minnesota farmers are making $3.56 per bushel for corn and $9.50 per bushel for soybeans on average.  USDA released the May Agricultural Prices report Monday showing corn down four cents from the April price and 87 cents lower than a year ago.  Soybean prices were down 23 cents from April and $4.50 below May 2014.

Hay prices in the state did increase $26 per ton from April to May but were $35 lower than a year ago at $136 per ton.

The May oat price was $2.61 per bushel, down 33 cents from April and $1.26 lower than last year.

The May average price for a hundredweight of milk was $17.80, 40 cents higher than the month before, but $7.20 lower than a year ago.
