Good week for corn, soybean, sorghum inspections

The USDA reports soybean and corn export inspections for the week ending June 25th were more than what’s needed to meet USDA projections for the current marketing year.

Wheat came out at 316,515 tons, up 6,621 from the week ending June 18th, but down 31,796 from the week ending June 26th, 2014. Less than a month into the 2015/16 marketing year, wheat inspections are 1,164,660 tons, compared to 1,850,980 early in 2014/15.

Corn was reported at 1,040,514 tons, 75,318 lower than the previous week, but 153,565 higher than this time last year. For the 2014/15 marketing year to date, corn inspections are 35,927,166 tons, compared to 37,861,022 in 2013/14.

Soybeans were pegged at 296,860 tons, 118,766 above the week before and 222,536 more than last year. So far this marketing year, soybean inspections are 47,886,763 tons, compared to 42,602,049 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 102,912 tons. That’s an increase of 101,932 tons on the week and 98,980 on the year. 2014/15 sorghum inspections are 7,529,751 tons, compared to 3,569,620 in 2013/14.
