3. The Mountain Story by Lori Lansens (Simon & Schuster, fiction, on sale June 30)

What it's about: The author of The Girls returns with the harrowing story of four unprepared hikers lost on a mountain.

The buzz: A "suspenseful, psychologically rich tale," says Booklist.

4. The Oregon Trail: An American Journey (Simon & Schuster, non-fiction, on sale June 30)

What it's about: The author, his brother, three mules and a dog cross 2,000 miles of the American West in a restored covered wagon.

The buzz: "Hilarious… emotionally touching, and deeply informative," says Kirkus Reviews.

5. The Insider Threat by Brad Taylor (Dutton, fiction, on sale June 30)

What it's about: In the eighth Pike Logan thriller, the Vatican is eyed for a terrorist attack by ISIS, using a group of Americans called "The Lost Boys."

The buzz: Taylor's books have been growing in popularity; his last Logan thriller, No Fortunate Son, landed at No. 21 in January.
