Aka the TSA let 95% of weapons through security during tests.  Sorry, percentages seem to break things on WordPress.

According to an ABC exclusive:

An internal investigation of the Transportation Security Administration revealed security failures at dozens of the nation’s busiest airports, where undercover investigators were able to smuggle mock explosives or banned weapons through checkpoints in 95 percent of trials, ABC News has learned.

The series of tests were conducted by Homeland Security Red Teams who pose as passengers, setting out to beat the system.

In some cases, the tests set off alarms, but the items were missed in pat downs.

First of all, I hope this does not result in even more invasive testing (that ends up being just as ineffective).

But in the spirit of celebrating TSA’s wins rather than musing over their failures–okay, so, the TSA did miss 95% of weapons, but here are a few things of mine and my friends they were able to save America from.

Things America was saved from:

The body glitter I was wearing one time

A sonic screwdriver  (Do I have to point out it was fake?  Since sonic screwdrivers aren’t real?  She had to)

My lacy thong

All of my friend’s underwear

The underwire in my bra

And I haven’t witten about this before, but the TSA confiscated my friend’s cupcake one time too.

Good job guys!  The world is much safer from sexy clothing and SciFi props!
