The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture has released the quarantine on all farms around the avian influenza farm in Chippewa County.  There has been no new cases of the virus in the county since the original confirmation in a commercial turkey flock on April 22nd.  The infected farm was depopulated and remains under quarantine until further notice.

The ban on poultry movement to shows and swap meets remains in effect until May 31st in Chippewa County as well as Barron, Juneau and Jefferson Counties.

The Juneau County quarantine zone was lifted last week.

State Vet Dr. Paul McGraw cautions that while Wisconsin has not had a new case of the virus in weeks, “positive flocks are still being reported in states to our west.”
