Wisconsin avian influenza cases hold at 10
The daily Avian Influenza update from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection shows no change from Monday. Ten infections in four counties affecting 1,765,000 birds of which 1.1 million are chickens and 652,000 turkeys including 41,760 hatching turkey eggs.
The two infections confirmed on Monday are awaiting depopulation. Depopulation is currently underway on the chicken farm in Jefferson County and turkey farm in Barron County confirmed last week.

Barron County Site 1: Depopulation complete, second round of surveillance sampling underway, compost monitoring underway
Barron County Site 2: Depopulation complete, compost monitoring underway, second round of surveillance sampling underway
Barron County Site 3: Depopulation complete, compost monitoring underway, first round of surveillance sampling underway
Barron County Site 4: Depopulation expected to conclude May 5, composting underway, first round of surveillance sampling expected to begin the week of May 11
Barron County Site 5: Initial site assessment complete, awaiting depopulation
Chippewa County: Depopulation complete, compost monitoring underway, second round of surveillance sampling expected to begin the week of May 11
Jefferson County Site 1: Depopulation complete, compost monitoring underway, second round of surveillance sampling completed, cleaning and disinfection underway
Jefferson County Site 2: Depopulation underway, first round of surveillance sampling complete
Jefferson County Site 3: Depopulation scheduled to begin May 6, 2015
Juneau County: Depopulation complete, surveillance sampling complete, cleaning and disinfection scheduled May 6, 2015
