Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board elections underway

Voting is underway for seven seats on the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB).  Seats are up in Districts 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20 and 23.  Six of the seven seats have incumbents unopposed for re-election.  In District 11, Kevin Fritz of Oshkosh and Chris Vanden Elzen of Seymour are seeking to replace Robert Letter representing Outagamie and Winnebago Counties.

Nominees are:

  • District 2, representing Florence, Forest, Langlade, Marinette, Oconto and Vilas counties. The nominee is Connie Seefeldt of Coleman.
  • District 5, representing St. Croix and Dunn counties. The nominee is Kay Zwald of Hammond.
  • District 8, representing Marathon County. The nominee is Steve Sternweis of Marshfield.
  • District 11, representing Outagamie and Winnebago counties. The nominees are Kevin Fritz of Oshkosh and Chris Vanden Elzen of Seymour. (Robert Letter)
  • District 14, representing Jackson, La Crosse and Trempealeau counties. The nominee is Patricia J. Kling of Taylor.
  • District 17, representing Calumet and Manitowoc counties. The nominee is Rosalie Geiger of Reedsville.
  • District 20, representing Richland and Sauk counties. The nominee is Sharon Laubscher of Wonewoc.
  • District 23, representing Iowa and Lafayette counties. The nominee is Jay Stauffacher of Darlington.

 

The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection will mail ballots to all eligible producers in the districts.  They must be filled out, signed and returned by May 23rd.  Elected producers begin a three-year term on July 1st.
