L'Occitane Almond Youthful Velvet Anti-Ageing Body Care Collection

As vigilant as I am with my facial skin care routine, I do slack a little when it comes to the skin elsewhere and panic come the warmer weather and flimsy dresses arrives - I am sure I am not alone here. As a huge fan of the original L'Occitane Almond Body Care collection I was more than excited to see not only an expansion but also the addition of anti-ageing technology. If we protect, pamper and nourish the skin on our faces - why not the body too?

The L'Occitane Almond Youthful Velvet Anti-Ageing Body Care Collection contains two new products: L'Occitane Almond Youthful Body Velvet Serum (£38) and L'Occitane Almond Youthful Velvet Balm (£42).  Before we get into the nitty gritty of each product lets discuss the scent - soft, slightly powdery, sweet and ever so slightly floral. This is not your typical almond fragrance at all - it almost reminds me of the aroma of cherry blossoms. Both products have been designed not only to hydrate and soften the skin but also to improve the signs of ageing on the skin - reducing the appearance of age spots, hyper pigmentation - all the while firming and visibly minimising the look of fine lines and wrinkles. The more I think about it the more sense this collection makes, all of our skin ages - yes some areas quicker than others but in the end we age all over. If like myself in the past you have allowed your body to bake in the sun, perhaps it is time to give it a little TLC to prevent premature ageing?

L'Occitane Almond Youthful Body Velvet Serum
I have been hailing this as the body lotion for those that not only don't have the time to faff around when it comes to allowing a product to sink in, and yet wants a touch of luxury. The quick drying gel texture of the L'Occitane Almond Youthful Body Velvet Serum is not only soothing and softening but also very refreshing. It is weightless, instantly absorbed and also contains a high does of vitamin C to even out the skin tone, along with three patented blends of almond extracts to reverse the signs of ageing due to sun damage. In a nutshell, this is a deeply nourishing weightless blend that offers more than your typical body lotion - not only is the texture sublime but it is packed with ingredients that will improve the skin tone and condition. If you are worried that you don't pay enough attention the skin on your body and want to both a preventive and restorative body product this is the one for you. Much like any serum this has been designed to encourage your moisturiser to work that little harder, it is recommended that you pair this with the below L'Occitane Almond Youthful Velvet Balm for the best results. Admittedly that is a pricey pairing so you may want to follow up with your regular body butter, or those pinched for time may want to use the serum as a stand alone product.

L'Occitane Almond Youthful Velvet Balm
The texture of this balm is divine, so much so that I had to snap a photo to allow you to see it. In person it is irresistible - to the point you simply have to dunk your fingers into the balm and enjoy! Forget what you know about normal body balms and butters, this is the Rolls Royce of such category. A luxuriously whipped, lighter than air, soft balm that glides on to the skin both cooling and hydrating as it goes. At £42 you can bet that not only is it non-greasy but instantly absorbed, boasting skin saving and repairing qualities to help firm, restore, brighten and reduce visible signs of ageing by stimulating the production of collagen and elasticity. This is nothing short of a delight to apply making taking care of my skin that little easier. I can not recommend enough: fights premature ageing, smells divine, repairs sun damage and is a treat to apply - what more could you wish for?

The L'Occitane Almond Youthful Velvet Anti-Ageing Body Care Collection will launch this coming May.
