Corn, wheat inspections up on week

The USDA reports soybean export inspections remain on pace to meet or surpass projections for the 2014/15 marketing year.

Wheat inspections for the week ending April 16th were 564,502 tons, up 92,828 from the week ending April 9th and 56,374 higher than the week ending April 17th, 2014. For the 2014/15 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 20,174,746 tons, compared to 27,778,667 in 2013/14.

Corn was reported at 1,068,197 tons, 208,950 more than the previous week, but 564,983 less than this time last year. At this point in the marketing year, corn inspections are 25,238,694 tons, compared to 26,834,686 a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 147,939 tons, down 302,426 from the week before and 6,024 lower than last year. So far this marketing year, soybean inspections are 45,490,647 tons, compared to 41,099,371 a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 217,484 tons. That’s a decrease of 19,185 tons on the week and 53,065 on the year. 2014/15 sorghum inspections are 6,338,597 tons, compared to 2,814,119 in 2013/14.
