Four years ago I was told I had chronic asthma. For an entire year after that diagnosis, I fought it. Physically — emotionally. I refused to believe it. Every sign was there, every test pointed to the same conclusion, and still I told myself they were wrong. I did not want to be someone who needed daily medication for the rest of my life.

Growing up in New England, I was always surrounded by antiques, though I didn’t begin selling them until 2009 when I opened my Etsy shop. Not Feeling Well

hot cold, hot cold

that is how it goes

a cough here, a wheeze there

not seeing the day go by

I haven’t had any sign of asthma in nearly 3 years but yesterday it raised its head.

thankfully I have medicine readily available. I’ll be OK after a few days.

Ordinary Things

Iconic almond green shutters with potted geraniums on the window sill.

My cousin Roxanne came to visit us. We spent time together soaking in each others company xx

Hand woven straw baskets- used mostly for grain and seeds, for feeding poultry.
