Lawmakers seek EPA documents

Programs ICONThe leaders of three House Committees are requesting documents from the Environmental Protection Agency used to determine jurisdiction in its Waters of the U.S. proposed rule.

The letter to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy suggests there was a lack of transparency in the rulemaking process. The leaders wrote, “The American people, including farmers and ranchers, have a right to be assured their voices are being heard by the Administration.”

The letter is signed by House Agriculture Committee Chairman Mike Conaway, as well as the chairmen of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
